Free Home Exercise Programmes for Physiotherapists

Talk to your doctor first. General education, not medical advice. This content is general education, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Get approval from your physician or another qualified healthcare provider before starting any exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition, a recent injury or surgery, are pregnant, or take medication. Stop and seek medical advice if an exercise causes pain, dizziness, chest discomfort or shortness of breath. You choose to exercise at your own risk. Read the full medical disclaimer.

How it works

1

Find the programme

Browse the exercise library by body region, or pick a full condition programme. Every page names and links the original publisher of its video.

2

Give it to your patient

Print the two-page handout on A4, or make a QR code with the free QR tool that opens the exercises on their phone.

3

They follow it at home

Patients get demonstration videos, suggested reps and holds, form cues and precautions. Nothing to install, no account to create, nothing to pay.

Why physios use it

  • It’s free. No trial, no per-clinician subscription. Paid HEP software is excellent for building custom programmes; when a standard home programme is what the patient needs, this covers it at no cost.
  • Nothing for the patient to set up. Home programmes often fail because patients never open them. A QR code or a printed sheet goes straight to the videos.
  • A4 handouts. Every handout comes in A4 as well as US Letter.
  • Sources you can check. Each exercise page names the publisher of its video and links to the original, with dosage, progressions, regressions and precautions written out.

A4 handouts

Two pages each, with the exercises in four phases and a QR code that opens every video. Free to print and give to patients.

List your clinic, free

We are building a simple directory so patients using our exercise guides can find a physiotherapist nearby. Founding listings are free for HCPC-registered physiotherapy clinics in the UK (and the US). Results will never be ranked by payment, and any future fee would be flat, never per lead or per patient. Claim a free founding listing.

Common questions

Is it really free?
Yes, for patients and clinicians. The exercise library stays free and open.
Is Protocol Archive part of the NHS or another health service?
No. Protocol Archive is independent and isn’t affiliated with the NHS, the HSE or any health service. Some videos are published by public health services, and each page names and links the original publisher.
Can I use the handouts in my clinic?
Yes. They’re made to be printed and given to patients. The videos stay on their publishers’ own channels.
Does this replace my HEP software?
No. It’s a patient-facing resource, not a clinical records tool. Many clinicians note the programme in their records and give the patient the QR code or printout.
Can I suggest an exercise or programme you don’t have?
Yes. Email hello@protocolarchive.com. The library grows based on what clinicians ask for.
