How we chose these listings. Every listing is free; nobody paid to appear, and order is not for sale. We started from open map data, then checked in October 2026 that each business’s website works and shows this location, and that each physical therapy and chiropractic clinic matches an active record in the federal NPI registry. Being listed is not a recommendation: check credentials, prices and insurance yourself. Own a business listed here? Email hello@protocolarchive.com and we will correct or remove your listing. Physical therapists in Seattle

Outpatient physical therapy clinics. Each one matched an active record in the federal NPI registry when we checked.

Can you see a physical therapist without a referral in Washington? Yes. Washington law says patients being treated for neuromuscular or musculoskeletal conditions do not need a consultation or periodic review by another health care practitioner. APTA lists a few limits: orthoses for structural foot or ankle problems need a referral or consultation, PTs must refer conditions outside their scope, and insurers or state programs may require their own referral. Medicare does not require a referral, but a physician must certify the therapy plan of care.33,34,35

Frequently asked questions

Where can I walk in Seattle in winter?

Paved loops such as the 2.8-mile Green Lake path and the 2.4-mile Seward Park path are good in wet months. Indoors, Seattle Parks runs a free Sound Steps gym walk at Rainier Beach Community Center, and several community centers have drop-in fitness rooms with treadmills and bikes.

Is there a parkrun in Seattle?

There is no parkrun inside Seattle city limits. The nearest free Saturday 5ks are in Renton, Des Moines and Redmond (Redmond Central Connector Trail and Perrigo Community Park). All four list a 9:00 am start. Register once before your first event, and check the event page before you go.

Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist in Washington?

Generally no. Washington law allows treatment of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions without a consultation from another practitioner. Your insurer may still have its own rules, and Medicare requires a physician to certify the plan of care.

Where is an easy, paved place to walk in Seattle if I have knee arthritis?

Green Lake (2.8-mile paved loop), the Seward Park shoreline path (2.4 miles, paved) and the Alki Beach path are paved lakeside or waterfront routes. Seattle Parks does not rate their gradient. Seattle Parks’ free Seward Park Walking Club meets Monday mornings if you’d like company.
